PU Coating is a more sophisticated multi-component injection molding process that uses polyurethane as a cover/functional layer. It reduces the number of process steps, delivers high-quality surfaces, and can lower costs in the long term, but it is planning- and capital-intensive and technically complex. Material and tool expertise are crucial—not just the injection molding machine.This process is marketed by various manufacturers under different names. Clearmelt from Engel, Clear Coat Molding from Krauss Maffei, or InPUR from Yizumi, and there are certainly others.
